Summary
  • Westgate says it has worked on 12 data centre projects during 2026.
  • The company expects a further 40 projects to be agreed before year-end.
  • Its systems are used to separate construction and technical areas while overlapping work packages proceed.

Westgate Global has formalised a dedicated data centre strategy after expanding its work on construction and fit out projects in the UK, Europe, and the US.

The Stafford based supplier says it has worked on 12 data centre projects during 2026 and expects a further 40 projects to be agreed before the end of the year.

The second figure is a company forecast rather than a contracted order total.

Westgate designs and installs temporary protection, screening, partitioning, and containment systems used during construction and fit out.

Its data centre work includes temporary enclosures around incomplete building envelopes, dust containment between construction and technical areas, and screening used during testing and commissioning.

The company is turning that existing project work into a dedicated market operation rather than entering the sector for the first time.

Westgate lists projects involving AWS, Intel, Meta, and Vantage Data Centers among its existing sector experience.

The formal strategy reflects the increasing overlap between construction packages on fast moving data centre programmes.

Mechanical and electrical installation can begin before the permanent facade is complete. Technical fit out may proceed beside areas where general construction work continues, while commissioning can require temporary separation before the final building arrangement is finished.

Those overlaps place more pressure on temporary environmental control and containment between work zones.

The equipment represents a small share of total project capital expenditure, but poor sequencing can delay much larger construction and technical packages.

Westgate cites a Slough project where it says temporary external screening allowed internal fit out to begin before the permanent facade was complete, shortening the programme by six weeks.

The claim comes from a supplier case study rather than an independently measured benchmark.

Programme savings will vary with facade design, construction sequence, weather exposure, and the trades able to work safely while external construction continues.

Westgate’s 12 project engagements during 2026 provide the existing base for its strategy. The forecast for another 40 projects remains to be tested through actual contract awards.
